I am glad the annual meeting went well and I congratulate all members of the new board. I find that it is so often that people so easily assume the worst and I heard some expressions that people were worried there was some sinister collusion going on with Maryse and I trying to somehow control the board,so let me point out that it is much simpler and less Machiavellian than all that. It came down to only two people who if both re-elected would not provide an odd numbered board which could then be deadlocked 2 to 2 and get nothing done. So we made sure there would be at least three members and an odd number if no one else ran. In fact no one else did, but there were enough people there interested to complete the board and that was the goal so the motivation worked even if it was negative motivation. New blood is always good. I am sorry to see Kieth leave and appreciate his wisdom and commitment for so many years. I wish the community had returned to a seven member board and then every one who ran could have had a seat because Maryse and I had already decided that if someone else ran only the highest vote getter between us would actually serve. If the original three had been elected, I had intended to nominate Maryse for President. She ended up as vice president and Charlie was made president and as a prior member not up for election he is obviously not beholding to Maryse for his election so it could not have gone better. (By now people must be figuring out that anyone Maryse voted for was a lock as she single handedly out weighed all other proxies and voters present.) As she told everyone she was not going to vote for me and we did not ever intend it to be so.Everyone and anyone could have done the same thing by going door to door but no one else did. It was not easy to decide but in the end she took a gamble on new blood. Should any one resign I believe Kieth would be next in total votes and that is good too because it gives us a valued and experienced alternate if needed. It is all just that simple.
After 10 years of marriage I know her well enough to honestly say that dispite any other opinions or suspicions she was working for and in the best interest of the entire community and not self serving for her own interests.
