It can happen to you if you are not careful. On April 18th there was a car that was broken into in Greenglen and over the past year there have been numerous cars that have been broken into in our area and overall Pinellas County. If you hear anything or see anything suspicious please call the Sheriff’s office. Their number to report a crime is 727-582-6200 and if it is an emergency dial 911.

Things to help make it harder for thieves.

  • LOCK your car.
  • Light the outside driveway area.
  • Don’t leave valuables in your car.
  • Set you alarm.
  • Put your GPS away if it is a portable.

Dog Park

At this years annual meeting a vote will be taken on a construction of a dog park in Woodland Hills.  According to the mailer recently received there are 50 or so residents that want one and the board is taking it to a vote. The board has also estimated the cost to be $10,000 to the homeowners in the association.

A few questions that are unanswered.

  • Will dues go up?
  • What will the rules be?
  • Will there be a charge to use the park?
  • Will it be only for HOA members?
  • Will it be a open gate or will it require a key to use?
  • Will it be for private use only and not for dog sitters?
  • How will it look and where will it go? (by the tennis courts in the green space?)
  • Do the neighbors that border it have any say?
  • Do the proxy votes apply to the park vote as well. If so and the Secretary casts the votes, how will they vote?
  • What will be the annual cost to maintain it.
  • Has there been any formal plan submitted?
  • What will the hours be?

New questions:

  • If a dog bites another dog or person will they be allowed back?
  • Will there be an age limit for users?
  • Will there be a ban on dangerous breeds?

These are just a few that I can think of and it is disappointing that none of the details are known at this time, other than lets vote on it.

Let your neighbors know and comment below..most of all show up at the meeting and make your vote count. It will be money out of your pockets that support this so speak out.

There is a poll on the website. Vote Here

Interesting reading can be found here – A Perfect Dog Park

There is more to this than “Let’s just have a dog park” and I hope the board does its due diligence or we will all pay.

This is one location that was discussed in a prior meeting. The area next to the Tennis Courts.

Do you want to lose this area?

2010 Annual Meeting – Dog Park Vote

Dog Park

A new notice was sent out and now there is an additional reason to show up at the meeting.. A Dog Park is being voted on. If you want to have a say in the matter show up and vote. It will cost all homeowners money according to the new notice.

If you cannot show up submit your proxy with your vote and cast it that way. One thing lacking from the proxy is the dog park vote and the way it reads your designate or the Secretary of the Association will be able to decide for you. It is not known how the Secretary feels about this and in the end it may be the deciding vote/votes. Also, with no details how can residents decide one way or another.

So if you are for it – Show up!
and if you are against it – Show up!

Let the board know how you feel – Take a Poll

Should all the homeowners be paying for something that will be only used by some? Is the $10,000 estimate enough? Do you want the area next to the Tennis Courts fenced in for a Dog Park? What will the rules be? Who will keep it clean? Will the people bordering it have a say? So many questions.

Show up, it should be interesting. Tell your neighbor and make sure they know.

The Meeting Info

On April 21st at 7:00 PM at the pool the Annual meeting will be held and it important homeowners in Woodland Hills attend or submit their proxy for the vote. In order for the vote to count there needs to be a minimum of 100 proxies submitted according to our management company. If there is not enough homeowners or proxies to make a quorum the meeting will be re-scheduled and held again. If this happens it will cost money out of our budget to redo the voting until a quorum can be reached.

Please plan on attending or mailing in your proxy. The proxy was included in the Annual Meeting notice mailing that you should have received. If you have not received the notice please contact the management company, PMI.
