September 2008 Meeting

The meeting began a little after 6:00. There were 4 residents, the board and PJ the project manager present. Here are a few highlights of the night from my memory for those that were not there.

• The August minutes were approved. August 2008
• The board discussed ways to keep residents (us) informed on things that are important or going on. The meeting minutes are the legal requirement but a newsletter was discussed as another way of letting people know about our HOA.
• Decrease in homeowner dues delinquency rate. This is good for all of us. The board needs the money to keep the neighborhood up and our amenities in top shape. Having delinquencies only hurts us all. Right now the number I heard was over $10K, but getting lower.
• Tip – if you are late, pay your dues. If it is at the lawyers, resolve it. The board cannot help.
• Bids were received to resurface the Tennis Courts and it looks like it will be done in the near future.
• Late nights at the pool (Dawn to Dusk is the rule), Late nights are becoming common at the pool and there has been an increase in vandalism.
• There was an incident in early September that brought out the Sheriff. From what I gather 3 people were involved and trespass was cited.
• At the next meeting the 2009 budget will be discussed. If you are at all interested in where your dues go then please plan to attend.

It was a good evening and remember to attend next month when the budget is discussed. Lots of little details go into it and it is your right to see the process. If you don’t attend then you will miss the effort that is being put in to make the HOA one of the best in the area.
